About the Role

As VAT Compliance Manager, you’ll play a key role in building and leading our new Centre of Excellence for VAT Compliance in Warsaw. You’ll be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate VAT filings across multiple EMEA countries, while also managing a team of Analysts and Senior Analysts. You will help shape processes, support technology implementation (SAP DRC), and build a strong governance model in collaboration with Corporate Tax, Finance, and GBS teams.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

Leadership & Centre Setup

  • Support the organizational setup of the VAT CoE.
  • Hire, lead, and develop a team of VAT (Senior) Analysts.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

VAT Compliance Operations

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat, and other indirect tax reports across EMEA.
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and manage associated risks.
  • Stay updated on local and EU VAT regulations.

Governance & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Co-develop a strong interaction and governance model with Corporate Tax and Finance teams.
  • Act as the main point of contact for VAT compliance matters in the region.
  • Regularly report on performance metrics and KPIs.

Process & Technology

  • Help implement SAP DRC and contribute to testing and system readiness.
  • Develop SOPs, process documentation, and training materials.
  • Identify and drive automation, efficiency, and standardization opportunities.

Risk Management & Audit Support

  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure proper documentation and controls are in place.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of VAT compliance experience, ideally in a multinational or shared services environment.
  • Previous team leadership or people management experience.
  • Solid knowledge of EMEA VAT regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle); SAP DRC experience is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Polish or another European language is a plus.
