About the Role:
At Boston Scientific, we believe that growing our business starts with growing our people. With that in mind, we are seeking a Director, HR Service Delivery to lead and enhance our HR Service Delivery operations across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This role will oversee HR inquiry & transaction support, process standardization, vendor management, and operational excellence, ensuring that our employees, HR partners, and business leaders receive best-in-class HR services.
This role will collaborate closely with all HR Operations, Centers of Excellence (COEs), HRBPs and business leaders to align HR Service Delivery with organizational needs while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and an excellent employee experience. Boston Scientific is looking for a strategic, hands-on HR leader who is passionate about creating a high-performing, customer-centric HR service model that enhances operational effectiveness and employee engagement.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
HR Service Delivery & Process Optimization
- Lead and oversee HR shared services operations across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant HR inquiry & transaction support.
- Standardize and optimize HR Service Delivery processes, ensuring alignment with business needs, compliance requirements, and employee experience goals.
- Drive operational efficiency and process automation, leveraging HR technology to reduce manual efforts and improve service quality.
- Develop and implement clear service-level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and operational dashboards to monitor and enhance service effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership
- Act as the primary liaison for HR Service Delivery, partnering with HRBPs, COEs, HRLT, and business leaders to ensure service alignment with business priorities.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders to identify service gaps, pain points, and improvement opportunities, driving continuous enhancement of HR support.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to HR leadership on service performance, workforce trends, and process improvements.
Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Oversee and manage third-party HR service providers, including HR BPOs, benefits administrators, and compliance service providers.
- Lead contract negotiations, performance reviews, and governance frameworks to ensure cost efficiency and service excellence.
- Establish vendor KPIs and service benchmarks, ensuring compliance with company policies and regional labor laws.
Compliance, Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure HR Service Delivery processes comply with employment laws, labor regulations, and internal policies across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
- Lead and manage the internal SOX404 program, ensuring adherence to governance requirements.
- Develop and maintain clear HR process documentation, risk assessments, and business continuity plans for HR services.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
- Benchmark best practices externally, participating in HR networks, conferences, and industry groups to bring innovation into HR service delivery.
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and develop a high-performing HR Service Delivery team, ensuring a strong focus on employee support, operational excellence, and professional growth.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence, empowering the team to deliver high-impact HR solutions.
- Support talent development within HR operations by mentoring and upskilling team members on best practices in HR Service Delivery.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 9 years of experience in HR Service Delivery, HR Operations, Shared Services, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of HR shared services, including inquiry and transaction support, process optimization, and service delivery governance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop HR reporting and dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and leverage data for decision-making.
- Experience overseeing outsourced HR service providers (e.g., BPOs, payroll vendors, benefits administrators) and managing vendor performance.
- Understanding of HR compliance and regulatory requirements across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
- Experience leading, managing, and developing HR service delivery teams.
- Experience implementing process automation and driving technology adoption within HR Service Delivery.
- Experience engaging and collaborating with stakeholders across HR and business functions, including the ability to influence decision-making and drive alignment.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% within the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, as needed.
