R&D Sustaining Engineer II – Peripheral Vascular Interventions

Maple Grove, MN (Hybrid 3+ days per week)

Join our Peripheral Interventions R&D Sustaining Team, where we improve and sustain commercial products that diagnose and treat peripheral vascular disease. Job Description:

 

As a R&D Engineer II, you will support commercial product improvement and supply continuity through design and material changes, product expansions, and complex problem solving. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure product designs meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and Testing: Assist in design change activities to improve or maintain supply of commercial products including solution strategy, conducting feasibility studies, and performing testing.
  • Problem-Solving and Compliance: Support investigations into failure modes, perform root cause analyses, and develop solutions to address technical challenges. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, marketing, design assurance, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review engineering documentation, including design change analysis, technical reports, design history files, and regulatory submissions. Present project updates and technical insights to stakeholders.

 

Minimum required qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience)
  • Experience in the medical device industry
  • Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, collaborative mindset, and effective communication skills.

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Test method development experience
  • Fundamental understanding of the Quality System per ISO 13485 or 21 CFR 820
  • Biomedical or anatomy experience and/or aptitude
  • Fundamental understand of design controls and risk management within the medical device industry
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving

Base Salary Range

Minimum Salary: $ 69500 

Maximum Salary: $ 132000 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

 

Compensation for exempt  roles  may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
