About the role:
Boston Scientific is recruiting for an accomplished and passionate communicator to make meaningful contributions across the company’s Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E) franchise. The IO&E franchise sits within the Peripheral Interventions business unit and includes targeted cancer therapies, as well as a suite of embolization products and cryoablation solutions.
This candidate must demonstrate a passion for communications and storytelling, as well as a functional understanding of working within a regulated industry and across multiple channels to reach stakeholder audiences. As an integral member of the Corporate Communications team, this individual will be expected to develop and lead both internal and external strategic communications programming to help advance the business, engage our employees and elevate our culture.
Your responsibilities include:

Lead integrated communications plans in support of overarching business objectives in close partnership with marketing, health economics and market access, clinical, regulatory and other key functional leads.

Manage public relations and media outreach in support of products and pipeline innovations, including regulatory approvals, product launches, clinical data and patient education programming.

Oversee the development of public relations programming and projects with public relations agencies and serve as primary point of contact.

Oversee internal communications channel strategy that supports leadership and drives employee engagement

Provide ongoing counsel and maintain regular interactions with marketing partners and business leadership within the IO&E team and across the Peripheral Interventions business unit.

Advocate for new and creative ways to tell compelling stories and experiences that lead to measurable results.

Partner with colleagues in Europe, the Middle East & Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America to develop global communications plans.

Collaborate with Corporate Communications teammates to share best practices that enable cohesiveness across business unit and functional communications.

Provide input into social media strategies and content, promoting business specific opportunities relevant for corporate channels.

Ensure a consistent and coherent voice in all communications that aligns with Boston Scientific corporate positioning and messaging.
What we're looking for in you:
Required Qualifications:
-
A minimum of 7 years of public relations, media relations, employee engagement and/or leadership communications experience within a corporate or agency environment.

Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent field.

Exhibits broad experience developing and executing strategic communications plans and correlating metrics while managing competing priorities.

Regarded as a proven and respected communications counselor to key leaders within an organization.
-
Fluent in topical health care news and industry trends with proper business acumen, as well as an understanding of public perception and issues management.

Demonstrates in-depth understanding of target audience, highly effective writing style and expertise in high-impact messaging to broad audiences. Ability to articulate complex information in simple and relatable terms.
Preferred Qualifications:

Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and has familiarity with major social media platforms and digital tools.

Adept at working in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative and enterprise; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Highly organized with a detail-oriented work style and outstanding follow-through skills.

Performs as a self-motivated, solutions-oriented communications professional who will recommend innovative communications approaches and take initiative in a fluid and fast-paced environment.

Ability to travel, as needed, in support of medical congresses and other meetings.

Experience within the life sciences and medical device industry is preferred.
