About the role:
We are seeking a Supply Chain Analyst II with extensive experience in transportation, logistics, and ERP implementation, specifically with SAP S/4HANA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing logistics and transportation operations, supporting the transition to the new ERP system, and ensuring seamless process documentation and work instruction creation. This role is critical in driving efficiencies in supply chain processes and ensuring smooth ERP adoption across the organization.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Transportation and Logistics Optimization:
- Analyze and optimize transportation processes, including carrier management, freight routing, and load planning to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Monitor key transportation metrics (on-time delivery, freight spend, carrier performance) and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with logistics partners and third-party carriers to resolve transportation issues, optimize shipment schedules, and enhance supply chain performance.
2. ERP Implementation Support:
- Work as part of the ERP implementation team, with a focus on integrating transportation and logistics processes into new ERP system preferably SAP S/4HANA.
- Assist in mapping current logistics processes to the new ERP system as well core business, ensuring that workflows are optimized and aligned with best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and supply chain teams to ensure the successful configuration and testing of a new ERP system preferably SAP S/4HANA modules related to transportation management, inventory control, and logistics operations.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues during the ERP transition, providing solutions and ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Ensure accurate data migration from legacy systems to a new ERP system preferably SAP S/4HANA, verifying that all logistics and transportation data is correctly transferred.
3. Process Documentation:
- Document new and existing processes related to transportation, logistics, and the ERP system, ensuring that all workflows are accurately captured.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for logistics processes, including shipment management, carrier selection, customs documentation, and returns processing.
- Work with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, IT) to ensure process documentation is aligned with the ERP system’s capabilities and business needs.
4. Work Instruction Creation:
- Create clear and detailed work instructions for transportation and logistics tasks, such as freight tracking, load planning, ERP system navigation, and data entry in ERP system preferably SAP S/4HANA.
- Ensure that work instructions reflect best practices and are accessible to team members at all levels, promoting consistency and efficiency.
- Regularly review and update work instructions as processes evolve, especially during and after the ERP implementation.
5. Risk Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy for transportation and logistics operations, identifying potential disruptions such as supply chain bottlenecks, carrier risks, or global trade issues.
- Conduct risk assessments for Transport and logistics activities and develop mitigation plans, ensuring business continuity and minimizing disruptions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively address supply chain risks and align risk management strategies with overall business objectives.
6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize ERP system and other analytical tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to track and analyze logistics performance, providing data-driven insights to optimize transportation routes, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
- Develop and deliver reports on logistics KPIs, identifying trends and recommending solutions to management.
- Support the development of dashboards to visualize key supply chain metrics in real time.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics and transportation functions by identifying inefficiencies and lead/design/define process improvement projects.
- Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to reduce waste, streamline operations, and improve accuracy and speed in transportation management.
8. Training and ERP Support:
- Provide training and support to logistics and transportation staff on new processes and tools introduced with the ERP system (SAP S/4HANA).
- Ensure that all team members are proficient in using the new system and following updated work instructions.
- Act as a point of contact for questions and troubleshooting during the ERP transition and post-go-live.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in supply chain analysis, transportation, and logistics management. Prior experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation or other ERP systems is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems, with knowledge of logistics and transportation modules.
- Strong proficiency in supply chain management software, transportation management systems (TMS), and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience in process mapping and documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
- APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or related certifications preferred.
Key Competencies:
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to assess transportation and logistics data and recommend improvements.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document processes and train staff effectively on ERP and logistics tools.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, including ERP implementation tasks and process improvement initiatives, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA) and how they interface with logistics operations.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with IT, operations, procurement, and external partners to achieve project goals.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in documenting processes, creating work instructions, and managing data migration during ERP transitions.
This position is for a defined term period of 12-18 months and you will work hybrid from our European Distribution Center in Kerkrade- The Netherlands.
