Calibration - M1 (Calibration Supervisor)
Supervises the activities, manpower and resources within the Inspection area to ensure support is provided to meet the department and company goals. Responds to complaints on parts, and work orders, plans and implements projects and procures needed equipment, supplies and spare parts. Implements policies and procedures to maintain production compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources.
- Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.
- Monitors daily work operations and provides direction to predominantly nonexempt and entry level staff to achieve unit or departmental goals.
- Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.
- Interprets and executes policies that affect individuals within the assigned organizational unit or department.
- Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations etc).
- Develops work schedules for department by assessing priorities, workload and available resources.
- Maintains personnel records (e.g., work schedules, vacation schedules, leaves) and makes or directs modifications in the database to reflect actual changes.
- May perform individual contributor tasks, especially in staff or professional units.
Management Requirements
Bachelor's Degree on Engineering or Technical field plus 4-8 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience (Min 2 yrs of supervisor experience preferred). Experience working on Equipment Controls internal/external audits desirable. Knowledge on RFP and Vendor certification processes. Certified (knowledge) Calibration best practices preferred. Experience managing Spare Parts Program highly desirable. Supervisory experience, leading technical team, creating staffing plan, distributing task based on work schedules, establishing department goals and metrics to measure team performance, managing disciplinary actions highly desirable. Experience with the FDA, BSI, OSHA, Enviromental Health & Safety (EHS) and ISO regulations. Experience in EAM (i.e.BMRAM), Software Validation and Equipment Qualification activities for Medical Device Industry. Experience with Problem Solving, Process Improvement methodology and Continues Improvement models. Technical writing experience documenting non-conformance investigations (i.e. NCEP, CAPA) per quality system. Great communications skills -understand when to involve specific stakeholders (i.e Production, Quality, Engineering, HR, Vendors, etc). Fully Bilingual.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
