Software Testing Manager – Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) R&D

About the role:
This position is responsible for directing various activities of the CRM therapy function focused on developing and testing software for implantable medical devices. This team’s primary activities are to support the development and testing of the medical software using various approaches. Throughout this process, the software engineering manager oversees a team of testing engineers for the efficient, high-quality design and testing of this critical medical device software.

- Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and developing organizational talent

- Makes decisions regarding work plans and schedules to achieve department objectives
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 9+ years of software related work experience (Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience)
- 2+ years of experience in direct management of software engineers or responsibility for leading/overseeing technical work for employees
- Experience with a company who makes a physical product (medical device, wearable device, aerospace, automotive, equipment) rather than a service.
- Knowledge of software engineering methods and tools (structured development, thread management, verification testing)
- Knowledge of test automation systems for software development
- Knowledge of requirement verification
- Knowledge of Lean/Agile concepts including scrums, burnups, retrospectives, backlog, and minimizing WIP
- Ability to develop partnerships with cross-functional areas within and outside of product development
- Design Controls expertise with particular focus on requirements, design, verification, and traceability
- Python programming experience or Java
- Experience writing documents, reports, memos and change requests
- Experience using version control systems
- Willingness to work onsite at our Arden Hills, MN site
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing regulated, safety critical software
- Experience working with a global R&D team
- Experience prioritizing resource needs across competing projects
- Experience in leading change management initiatives
- Strong communication skills, including technical discussions at all levels
- Medical device experience in capital systems (e.g. imaging products) development with hardware/software integration
- Linux and Windows operating system configuration and management, including cybersecurity solutions

Base Salary Range
Minimum Salary: $ 99100
Maximum Salary: $ 188300
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for exempt roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
