About the Role: Capital Equipment is dynamic and rapidly growing part of Boston Scientific. We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Program Manager to join our team; and primarily oversee the management of projects within the Capital Equipment Quality Strategic plan. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing several strategic projects, leading a couple of them directly, and potentially overseeing a small team of professionals. This role requires a highly skilled, experienced professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale programs and managing multiple stakeholders in a large, matrixed organization.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

1.    Program Leadership:

  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of projects as part of a larger program, ensuring alignment with the organization's & Quality strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain program plans, ensuring timely delivery of program milestones and outcomes.
  • Track and report on overall program performance, including key metrics, risks, and resource allocation.

2.    Project Management:

  • Lead 2-3 projects directly, overseeing all aspects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure on-time delivery within scope.
  • Manage risks, issues, and changes, ensuring proactive mitigation and solution development.
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

3.    Team Leadership & Development:

  • Potentially manage 1-3 team members, including technical leads, analysts, or specialists.
  •  Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to direct reports.
  •  Encourage a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Ensure that team members are properly resourced and supported to succeed in their roles.

4.    Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across various business units and functions.
  • Communicate project and program status, risks, and challenges to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and addressing concerns.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Quality, R&D, Global Supply Chain, IT etc.) to ensure successful project execution.

5.    Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify potential risks and issues across the program and its individual projects.
  • Develop mitigation plans and coordinate with teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Escalate critical issues to senior leadership when necessary.

6.    Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to the development of best practices for project and program management.
  • Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive process improvements.

7.    Governance and Communication: 

  • Establish Governance model at the program level; and lead, coordinate, and facilitate the programs’ steering committee.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to executive leadership.
  • Establish multi-channel communication strategy that facilitates regular updates to key stakeholders across functions and divisions

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, a technical discipline, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management or project management leading complex, large-scale programs.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, in a strategic or cross-functional environment.
  • Strong experience with project management tools. 
  • Experience utilizing change management practices.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, Engineering or a related field.
  • Change management certification.
  • 3+ years of experience with a focus in Quality or Capital Equipment.
  • Experience leading or managing small teams (1-3 people).
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and team members.
  • Ability to think strategically, manage complex workflows, handle multiple stakeholders, organize and lead workshops.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a results-driven mindset and ability to work in a team environment.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements.
