Principal Software QA Engineer - Systems Test
About the role:
This is a unique opportunity to work on the Cortex Integration project, specifically supporting Software Validation and Cybersecurity under the direction of the Quality lead. This position ensures that during the integration of products and quality system processes, the product and processes remain safe, of high quality, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Design test plans to ensure that software operates within defined requirements and design objectives and meets user expectations for quality. Implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies. Work closely with software developers to resolve issues identified during design reviews and testing.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide Software Quality Stewardship
- Bring in best practices across Digital, AI and ML experiences and integrate into products and services
- Analyze requirements and write test plans for a variety of Cortex products/projects
- Effectively identify and communicate potential risks during the course of the project
- Perform in-depth testing
- Investigate and report defects thoroughly
- Builds strategic partnerships with other groups
- Collaborate closely with software development colleagues to resolve issues
- Ensure the timely delivery and deployment of quality products for assigned projects
- Work toward test automation where applicable, to improve productivity and test coverage
- Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, MDR)Hybrid work model. Must be able to go into the office at least 2 days a week
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Hands-on working knowledge with AI, ML, Digital skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ software quality assurance/testing or software development experience
- Knowledge of Lean/Agile concepts
- Design Controls expertise with particular focus on requirements, design, verification, and traceability.
- Expertise in C++, Qt and familiarity with one other scientific computing/scripting language such as Python or MATLAB. Working knowledge in Unix
- Experience with automated testing software and cybersecurity software
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Quality Assurance/Test training desired
- Strong communication skills, including technical discussions at all levels
- Medical device experience in capital systems (e.g. imaging products) development with hardware/software integration
- Experience with medical device software testing preferred
- Experience with traceability and regulatory testing preferred
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Dynamics, and Azure Cosmos DB (or other DocumentDB) preferred
- Proven ability to apply engineering approach to solving problems
- Excellent analytical skills coupled with a high level of initiative and responsibility

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
